Clips: definition of different types
Clip is the generic name of a multimedia content characterized by a file with the content and a set of metadata.
Homm-sw uses the following types of clip: album, text, video.
Please, note that a clip may use a content (eg a video) already used also in another clip. Those clips will be different because of the metadata you will associate to that file in each clip.
Clips are created and edited in the Clip Manager, from the Admin menu.
Album
Album is a sequence of pictures with a given time laps.
Each picture has a caption (please remember to quote the author of the picture, the year and the place).
Use only .jpg files
Three different sizes are allowed
– Preview, size 160 x 120 pixel (L x H)
– Medium size, 640 x 480 pixel (L x H)
– Hires, size 1024 x 768 pixel (L x H)
For vertical orientation: invert proportions
(L x H –> H x L. Ecxamples: 120 x 160, 480 x 640, 768 x 1024 pixel).
The number of pictures in each album is counted automaticaly by Homm-sw

Text
Use only .pdf file
For texts, the righ column in the browse&print page of each clip presents a free text. You may use that field with comments, an extended abstract, references, according your needs.

Video
In this category belong the follwing documents
- video (from dvd, or movies, documentaries, etc.)
- fixed image and audio (encompasses the generic audio) foto fissa con audio (sostituisce la categoria audio)
- slide-show (eg PowerPoint slides or slides with audio or voice recording)
- animations.
File format for video: .flv, .mp3, .mp4 or .m4v.
Video format: 640 (L) x 480 (H) (25 fps).
Duration of videos has no limit, nevertheless short (1′-3′) are recommended
Video are described with metadata used in the browse&print page for automatic filling of the information on the left part of the browse&print page of each video clip and for the right part of the same page, below the text
For videos, the righ column in the browse&print page of each clip presents a free text. You may use that field with comments, or transcription of the audio (e.g. transcription of interviews).
